Review of ‘Absolutely Aggie’ by Michelle R Eastman

aggie_cover_front_r-1My children loved the first book ‘The Legend of the Dust Bunnies’ so much that they dressed up as dust fairies, with their own dust bunnies, for World Book Day. We were so excited when Absolutely Aggie was released. I was delighted to see the same fabulous illustrations by Kevin Richter; they add an extra element of fun. I liked that there was only a small amount of text on each page, giving children a lot of illustrations for each section of the story. Michelle Eastman’s happy rhymes bounce along at a pace to keep children entertained.

Aggie is an endearing character, she tries hard to fit in but is quite unique. She’s scruffy, messy, loud and clumsy but has a loveable charm that all little children can relate to. The story carries an important message for children that they should be proud of who they are. My five year old loved Aggie so much, she’s chosen to dress up as her for this year’s World Book Day. We look forward to more dust fairy tales.

Oh, my goodness! This fills my heart to the brim! Seriously, your girls dressing up as Kevin’s/my characters is the absolute highlight of my author journey. Thank you for sharing this with me. And, thank you for the kind review; I appreciate it. I feel so blessed that our paths connected online. Your blog and adventures inspire me to be a better mom and person. Thank you for that gift.

They’re testing my sewing skills again! Aggie will be fun to do and we already have a set of well-loved dust bunnies. As I pressed the ‘post’ button there was a knock at the door and it was the postman delivering the paperback copy. The same happened last year! My little Aggie will be taking your book into school to share with her classmates.

Wow! That is amazing! I won’t post them, but I’d love to see photos again this year. Thanks, again, for sharing this with me! I WAS that little Aggie, so it is extra special to me to know a kindred spirit relates to her!

Me too, I was definitely an Aggie. My middle daughter is going to make the perfect Aggie – just need to get her some bagpipes When we first read it together, my other girls giggled and said, “that’s Sienna!”

SO AWESOME to read all this. I am thrilled that my pictures and Michelle’s words have such a wonderful impact on children (and their parents:). Absolutely Aggie was such a fun book to work on.

Thanks for the kind words about my illustrations 🙂
