Daisy Donkey and Poppy Pig are not happy sharing a field and their selfish antics create even more problems. This funny story may be about farm animals but it could easily be about my children and their squabbles. It teaches children about the importance of sharing and being friendly and like all good children’s stories, it has a happy ending. I read this as a bedtime story to my littlies (aged 3 and 4) and they giggled at the insults Poppy and Daisy threw at each other across the field. They both enjoyed the story and loved the characters Poppy and Daisy.
The page layout is great for little ones with brightly coloured pictures, by James Shaw, filling every page. As with all of Russ Brown’s books, I’ve had requests to read this book over and over and also downloaded the Kindle version to read while we’re out and about. I love the fact the Kindle version is just as colourful as the book, definitely worth having both.
