My children loved Sarah Hindmarsh’s first book ‘The Mouse Who Howled At The Moon‘  and were eager to read this next book. Jinx was one of our favourite characters so we were pleasantly surprised to find this was his story.

The first part of the book tells of how he was found but also teaches about the importance of being helpful and kind. Jasper and Jack are lovely characters, good neighbours who are always helping out the other animals, and it is through this that they come to rescue Jinx.

The second part of the book tells of the start of Jinx’s adventures. The lessons of kindness and sharing he learnt from his adoptive dads are what lead him to making friends with Captain Tadlow and the crew of sea otters. Eventually they set sail on an adventure of a lifetime. While the book is a complete story, the ending leaves it open for future books about Jinx’s adventures around the world. My children loved this book and are now eager to set sail with Jinx and Captain Tadlow on their next exciting voyage.
