Twitch Lop is a cute rabbit who is kind to his friends and loves fishing. He’s a great little role model for young readers, spending his days catching fish, patiently waiting till he reels in enough to share a meal with all his friends. Watching from the harbour, Twitch is shocked by the naughty behaviour of Sally Seagull. He sets about teaching her a nicer way to behave and in doing so makes a new friend.
This book is written by poet Chaz E. Arnold so it’s no surprise that it bounces along in fun and simple rhymes. The illustrations are bright and colourful helping non-readers follow along with the story.
This is a happy little book. It reminds me of sunny holidays at the seaside, lazing on the beach, watching the seagulls swoop and dive for tidbits thrown by the children. In fact I think we met Sally Seagull last time we were down at the coast; she was working with her friends to clear tables at a beachside café. Thank goodness Twitch Lop taught her some manners!
