This is my 100th blog post!
I am a bit of a numbers geek so it seemed a shame not to celebrate with a few more numbers. Humour me….
My blog was created for my birthday by my husband, and I have been posting my ramblings for exactly 10 months.
I have had a satisfyingly palindromic 7557 visitors.
I have 384 messages and 16,949 spam messages – that’s a whopping 98% straight into the bin. Hooray for the spam filter!
I have used 484ย pictures within my blog posts.
My most popular post, both in shares and views, is You’re Not Alone. This is a post I wrote describing my experience of being involved in an anthology in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. It has it’s own lovely set of numbers:
The anthology includes 30 contributers, covering 12 countries.
It will be exactly 100 days from the first call to action to its publication on the 11th of July. This is also exactly 1 year since I ventured into the weird world of social media wanting to publish my writing.
A fabulous 100% of the proceeds will go to the charity. Please help the number of sales grow to huge proportions and push it up to Number 1 on the Amazon charts.
You can pre-order a copy on Amazon.
The nicest numbers of all are ones that can’t be counted. They are the number of hours people have put into this charity project and the number of people who’ve offered their support, advice and expertise. By far the happiest number of all, is the number of people who started out as names on a screen, and have now become friends.
Fantastic! Congratulations! Numbers and quantity aside, your blog is a standard of Quality, and that’s the best! ๐
As is yours Jim, and congratulations on the release of Little Red Bear.
SO AWESOME! YAH!!! ๐ very cool ~ ahhhh the spam!! so crazy. price of being famous. he he
Famous? I wish. But yes, I do seem to be very popular with the spammers.
Nicely done. The anthology will be what it is because of those who made it, yourself included in that esteemed list. It is something to be proud of, something to cherish and hold dear, and something that will make a difference to many thousands of people in the future to come. Congratulations on the hundredth post … many more to come I trust ๐
I will celebrate the next anthology with my two hundredth post – think you can cope with my bossiness for that long Ian?
Many numbers to be proud of Sylva, but you’ve done a great job with this post and it right celebrates for you. I like the break into colour from the standard, black for text, blue for links.
I reckon with such a positive attitude you are going to soar to the next 100 without effort, and I’ll be there with you on the journey. Keep it up my friend.
Thank you for your kind words yet again Tom. We will support each other.
Always a pleasure to come and catch up with you, Sylva, numbers or no, but congrats on racking up a worthy score .. deservedly so. I’m honoured to be a guest on your blog from time to time and will look forward to doing so again in the future. Special mention for the quality project ‘You’re Not Alone’ … it takes pride of place on merit for all involved.
I’m the one honoured to host your fabulous poems Neil. I feel it’s time for another guest post – better get writing. xx
Congratulations on your numeric…and enabling me to be part of it, providing I’m not 666 of course! It’s given me great pleasure. Not surprised about Your Not Alone as it’s a fabulous project and I admire all those who have been/are involved.
Thanks Anni – you are definitely included in my special numbers, you are one of a few who started as a random tweet flying by, and quickly became a good friend. I always find it amazing how I seem to be drawn towards certain people out of the thousands of tweets that go by every minute.
Lol, great post, now I want to go check my numbers! ๐ I Love your blog!
Told you I was a bit of a numbers geek! I love your blog too Lisa, I think we’d be great friends in real life.
This is absolutely wonderful! Congratulations on the success of your writing and your forthcoming book!
My part in this anthology is only a small one but one I’m proud of. Thanks for your support Michelle.
Great post Sylva
Thank you Patrick. x
