I’m a bit of a grouch when it comes to starting the Christmas festivities early. It seems the shops start earlier every year and I hate seeing Facebook posts of Christmas trees up in November. But don’t get me wrong, I do love the magic of Christmas, I just like to celebrate it at Christmas time. It takes something special to switch me from super grouch to Christmas fairy. This year it was watching my little Fae perform in their Christmas nativity plays. Their sweet voices slightly out of tune, masks slipping down and little excited waves, brought tears to my eyes. I’m such a big softie!
Travelling to our family Christmas get together, I dug out a CD of Christmas tunes (much to my husband’s dismay) and we sung raucously for the whole two hour journey. Music has an uplifting effect on me, it’s just a shame I can’t sing. That didn’t stop us having fun though and I arrived at the restaurant in Christmas spirits. Now I am looking forward to the holidays and spending time with my family. My girls have written their letters to Santa and are excited about finding a pile of presents under the tree on Christmas morning. Me, I’m looking forward to a little reading time and a Kindle laden with stories.
With that in mind, here is my song to the Christmas Kindle fairy, some are favourites from this year and others are ready and waiting to be read. I recommend you check out all the books by these amazing indie authors.

Happy Christmas my friends!

I tend to agree with you – nothing Christmas until at least after the US Thanksgiving (and they stop celebrating at the end of November!). December 1st is definitely early enough to start to think of Christmas decorating. I do start shopping early though – I hate the crowds and the commercialism 🙁
You’re right, it’s not really the Christmassy stuff, it’s the commercialism I detest. I hope you had a fantastic day.
Thank you very much! And thank you to all the talented authors on your list! You’re all amazing.
Totally agree, you are all amazing!
And have a very Merry Christmas. I think the Christmas season started slightly before Halloween here in the States.
Here too – madness! Hope you had a super day with your family.
A lovely post for somebody who has youngsters and right attitude to enjoy it all with them in mind – which is how it should be.
I’m not a grouch at Christmas, as much as I pretend to be, but it is a time for chilling for a day or two – whatever the outside temperature.
Our little boy (33 years old, and 6ft 2ins) is back with us for a short break before he goes back ‘home’ to Amsterdam for the New Year.
We’ll probably see each other on FB, but in the meantime, have a great Christmas. xx
Thank you Tom. I wonder if you are chilling today or are you sticking to your writing routine around present unwrapping and Christmas pud? Hope you had a good one today. Xx
In a totally separate comment, though no less sincere – thank you my friend for including me with such an esteemed group of authors. You’ve got great taste. 😀
It’s easy to have good taste in such a talented group.
Happy reading Sylva. Good choice of books.I also have a stock under the bed and on Kindle. Hoping for a few free minutes to enjoy a good read.
I wish you, your family and all followers on here A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS x
Happy Christmas and Happy Reading!
Very Merry Christmas Wishes to you and all the family! And thank you for including Little Red Bear and me in your song with such other noted authors. Truly honored. Christmas has come a day early in the backwoods.

Thank you Patrick, Darkly Wood is one of my favourite books this year, it had to be included. I hope you have a restful Christmas. Xx
A great selection of books and a nice Christmas post, Sylva. Glad to see Santa and his reindeer are on the way. They seem to be in quite a hurry. Have a good one.
Santa has to be speedy to get round us all. He made a stop here, hope he left you lots of goodies.
Thanks for my Distant Stars!
